1. Information
Registration: To register, simply enter your details into the form on the home page and click “Sign Up”. A validation email will be sent to the email address you provided. If you can’t find this email, be sure to check your junk mail, as sometimes the email comes through as phishing. Do not set up more accounts if you don't get your validation email, just email bunny@princessserenity.net and Bunny will manually validate you. Click on the link in the email to validate your registration. Once this is done, you are now a member! Please note: although an email address is required, members will NOT have access to this information.
Profile: Each member has a profile. From your profile you can change your avatar view the actions you’ve taken, create a blog, check out your friends list, upload photos, add polls, quizzes, videos and even check out your favourites list. By clicking “Customize Profile” in the Profile drop down menu, you can change the colours and theme of your profile page.
Mail: Mail is an one-on-one contact with another member. It works like email, but it’s internal for here on the site only. You have an inbox, and folders to store your messages in and you can send and receive messages to other members of the website. Simply click on the “Mail” button second from the right in your main toolbar to access your mailbox.
Account Settings: To access your account settings, select it from the drop down menu under “Settings” third from the right in your main toolbar. From here you can edit your account and location/time zone details, and set up your signature for the forums. Under Privacy Settings you can dictate who can view what and what events will give you notifications.
2. Rules
Firstly, make sure that you take all of the rules seriously! They are strictly enforced and constant rule breaking will not be tolerated. There is a reason for each rule that we have, and they are fairly easy to follow. Make sure if you have questions about them, to ask one of the moderators.
Secondly, rule breaking will generally follow the 3-strike rule. For each rule, you will be allowed 2 strikes, and for each one, you will get a warning, either public or private, in most cases both. After a 3rd strike, you will be placed on probation, which disables your account from posting and/or contributing. You will stay on probation until you can prove that you can behave yourself. Being on probation means you are on thin ice. If you act out while on probation you might be banned. We have two banning methods, one is where you are banned from using the website, but the website is still visible. The other is that we ban you from your IP and your computer will no longer be able to even VIEW this website.
Please note: Bunny, as the owner of this website reserves the right to do whatever the hell she wants with regards to punishing you if she feels it is warranted. She does always try to be fair, but she will do what it takes to maintain peace and order, so there are exceptions to this 3-strike rule. Examples would be, blatantly disregarding the rules, or disrespecting site staff. Those will get you in very serious trouble, immediately. For example, if you have a very ugly flame war and there is a lot of swearing, name calling, and overall viciousness, expect to get banned. If you attack one of the staff for doing their job, expect to be in serious trouble from Bunny. The staff or Bunny, depending on your violation and who is involved, will determine punishment for special cases. Best thing to do, is just follow the rules and everybody will be happy.
Finally, be sure to look out for rules posted in specific forums on the forums and/or specific rules for submissions within certain areas. Some of the forums here have their own rules for that forum. They will be posted with a sticky at the top of the forum so you can’t miss them. If it's a specific rule for content contributions such as photos, music, videos, polls, quizzes, etc., it is outlined in the "Help" page under "How To." If you contribute without looking at the "How To" first and you don't follow the correct formatting/rule your submission may be denied by the staff.
1. One-liners are permitted, but only if they stay ON TOPIC.
2. No posts in all caps! Or PoStS wHeRe YoU tYpE lIkE tHiS.
3. Post your forums topics in the CORRECT forum. There is a description of each forum and what goes there on the main page of the forums, so please read the description before posting a topic there. When in doubt, post in the general forum called “The Hangout” or Mail one of the site staff and ask.
4. This is an all ages website; however…if you are under 17, please get parental or guardian permission before joining. Sailor Moon is NOT a children's story, and we aren't going to make everything here kid proof, because the main audience for Sailor Moon are young adults. There will be mature topics discussed here in marked places. It is the responsibility of your parents to monitor your online activities; so if you are under 17 and you haven't talked to your parents, it's on you if you read/see something shocking here that is inappropriate for your age. If your parents contact us we will ban you, period. If you didn't get their permission then you don't deserve to be a member here even when you are old enough. Additionally, we're not going to babysit you. So if you are under 13, you better not go around acting like a bratty little kid, to that end, if you're over 13 and you act like a bratty little kid we will
you.
5. Constant and unnecessary cursing will not be tolerated. When you feel the need to use swear words, don't go above the lines of PG-13. All the major cuss words like the "F-word" and the "S-word" will not be allowed. Try using real words and not vulgar ones if you feel the need to express something negative.
6. No double posting/multiple posting unless it's in the spam topic of the forums.
7. NO FLAME WARS! I know that it is easy to get "caught up in the moment" and to virtually beat another member over the head because they don't agree with your PERSONAL OPINION. Try to remember that everyone is entitled to their OWN OPINIONS and don't try to force your opinions onto other people or be angry with them just because their opinion differs from yours. That's the whole point of an opinion. Don’t try to pass off incorrect information, or an opinion as a FACT. Keep facts and opinions separate. And keep your fights and arguments about ANYTHING off of the website; none of us want to hear about it.
Notice: IF you cause a public argument, public humiliation by Bunny is imminent. IT WILL HAPPEN and you will not like it. Bunny has a knack for making people feel very stupid and she won't hesitate to use it on you if she feels you are out of line. If you do it more than once, expect to get banned. Opposing opinions are fine, but don't turn it into a battle.
Notice 2: Don't get other people involved/get involved yourself in arguments. If you don't want to pay the price, STAY OUT OF IT. If you don't want to get banned, don't get others involved if you find yourself in a fight. Both of these scenarios will only cause you greater punishment because they cause fights to snowball out of control.
8. Read ALL site announcements. All announcements are written for a reason and contain important information we feel you should know. Read ALL bulletins posted by staff members, again this is important information from the staff to the site members.
9. Don’t disrespect site staff. The staff are here to enforce the rules, keep the peace, moderate new submissions and are the biggest contributors to this website. They will contact you regarding rule breaking and/or submissions because it's their JOB. They do so without making it personal against you; so don't be personal with them, don't get your feelings hurt, it's not personal. And DO NOT EVER, EVER attack one of them because you have a problem with how they handled something. If you mess with them, you will hear it from Bunny, the site owner, and Bunny won't stand for ANYONE mistreating them, EVER.
10. Check your spelling and grammar! This is an International website, and a lot of members here have a language other than English as their first language. Don’t confuse them with bad spelling and grammar and/or net-speak. It is very hard to understand something in a second language when it’s not correct. Browsers these days have spell check, so there is no excuse for BAD TYPING/SPELLING other than laziness. Especially "I" "you" "why" etc. Just take the .02 seconds it takes to type it properly, this isn't text messaging or Twitter, there is plenty of room for you to type everything out properly. Slang is to a certain degree acceptable so long as it is well understood by the general populace who speak English. (Or if you give an explanation of it.) If you use uncommon slang with no explanations, the Admins and/or Palace Guards reserve the right to reprimand you for it.
11. ALL MAJOR issues MUST go to Bunny, don’t bother the staff, and go directly to Bunny. State the facts and all parties involved and Bunny will resolve the issue for you. Go behind her back and when it all blows up in your face, you will hear it from her. Just trust her to fix things, she has always kept the peace on this site, and intends to keep doing so. If she's not around, one of the other admins: Aisuru, Kaiou or Rydell are acceptable to approach regarding these issues, but in most cases major stuff ends up in Bunny's lap eventually. If it's really out of hand they'll call Bunny's cell phone. If it gets to that point, you're going to be in so much trouble.
12. DON’T SPAM. If you want to spam there is always a spam topic in the Hangout forum on the forums. You can’t miss it, because it always has “spam” in the title, and usually it has the most posts and views. Spam all you want to there, but don’t spam anywhere else. Spam includes apologies in threads where you have been reprimanded by a staff member. If you do spam, one of the staff will reprimand you publicly. Repeat offenders will be placed on probation.
13. Regular members should NEVER in any way shape or form point out rules that have been broken by another member in a thread or post. You CAN mail a staff member to bring it to their attention so the broken rule can be solved by THOSE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING IT, not to mention, those who have the authority to do something about it. Regular members correcting other members leads to a lot of rude and un-necessary correction spam, it mucks up the flow and peace of the website and honestly, it makes you seem like an unlikable person who sticks their nose in where its not needed and unwanted. We will absolutely not tolerate or allow this form of behavior. Let the staff do THEIR jobs, and you do yours by minding your own business.
14. Be honest! You can by all means withhold personal information, it's your business, but don't make up stories and lie to other members about who you are or what you're doing. Forming fake relationships online is a disease for so many people, but the truth is, it's REAL HUMAN interaction. You can't get away with anything just because it's the Internet. Reality CHECK time, we're REAL people, we have REAL feelings, and so do you. Lying has consequences, period. Don't do it.
3. User Groups
There are different member user groups here on PS.net. According to your activity, will be your group.
Millennium Citizens: The member group you are in when you join is called Millennium Citizen. As a Millennium Citizen, you have all standard website member privileges. You have full access to groups, bulletins, announcements, forums, including creating and replying to threads, commenting in all possible places, you can make new polls and quizzes, post blogs, and upload content including photos, videos and music.
Being a member of this website is a privilege, not a right. This website is owned by Bunny and it is by her good graces you are allowed to be here. This privilege can and will be taken away if you break the rules.
The following are the user groups for staff on the site:
Palace Guards: Palace Guards are social interaction moderators, who will enforce the rules pertaining to social interactions with other members on their profile pages, the forums, and any other place you leave comments. They will even field disputes carried out through the chat system and mail system. The rules include, but are not limited to, rules regarding spam, multiple postings, flame wars, and spelling and grammar. To become a Palace Guard, you must express this desire to Bunny. Should we need a new Palace Guard, only if you have told Bunny previously that you are interested, would she then offer the position to you.
SMFFQCC: The SMFFQCC is the staff that runs SMFanFiction.net, the PS.net fanfiction archive. They also moderate the SMFanFiction.net forums within the site forums groups. If you have questions about fanfic/SMFF.net, they would be the people to ask about it, as they assist in running all fanfiction aspects of the site.
Outer Guardians: This group will be those staff members who moderate and approve content on the site. They look at new submissions to the images, music, videos, quizzes, polls, etc. and either approve and/or deny them. They are also big contributors of content themselves. If you wish to become an Outer Guardian, please let Bunny know, and Bunny will decide whether or not to approve you.
Inner Guardians: This group is for all staff that are site administrators. An Inner Guardian has just as much power as Bunny. This position is extremely rare, and there will most likely not ever be more than a few members in this group. Currently, the Inner Guardians are Aisuru, Kaiou and Rydell, get to know them well, as they are the primary members of this website and help run EVERYTHING. It is advisable that you add all of them to your friend's list.
Moon Princess: The Moon Princess is Bunny/Tracy. Bunny is the ultimate ruler of the site, and the boss over everything. She is also watching YOU and knows everything you are doing, so don't stupidly think she doesn't know - she just doesn't usually say anything.
Bunny can do anything and everything on this site because she built this site and she pays the bills for it. Without Bunny there would be no PrincessSerenity.net so keep that in mind before you start spewing off something really stupid like "it's a free country and I can do what I want." 1. It's the Internet, not a country. 2. You can't do whatever you want anywhere, and if you really believe that you're super naive and need to do a serious reality check. Bunny is really nice and enjoys helping site members get the most of out of the website, but she doesn't appreciate being disrespected, so just play nice and remember that you catch more bees with honey. And for pity's sake, be honest with her about everything, if you aren't she'll either know you're lying because she sees things as the site owner that nobody else does, and has access to see EVERYTHING you do, or she'll find out later and then you'll really be sorry. Dishonesty is not appreciated. You can by all means withhold personal information, it's your business, but don't make up stories and lie. She is the only one with the title of Moon Princess, and it will forever remain that way. There are many things that only she can do, and she is pretty active, so rest assured, she will be there to help you if you need her, whether you are new or an Inner Guardian.
